We strive to use just enough ultrasound intensity levels to provide a high quality image to help your doctor make an accurate diagnosis. Here are a few examples of how we keep your ultrasound exposure to a minimum:

We work with your doctor to make sure your test is appropriate. If we have any questions about a procedure your doctor ordered, we may call him or her, and, when appropriate, we may suggest a way to get good test results with less ultrasound exposure.

We adhere to the AIUM’s recommendations to ALARA

We carefully adjust the intensity levels of ultrasound to make it optimal for quality diagnostic imaging.

A medical physicists inspects our equipment at least once a year to confirm that we are standards-compliant.

As a result, MYULTRASOUND adheres to the guidelines set forth by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), a national organization that sets the standards for medical ultrasound procedures in the U.S. and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS).
